A **Green Stack Edge Device** is a powerful, on-premise compute engine that securely connects your building systems to the Green Stack Cloud and performs several key platform operations. 

An Edge Device is responsible for:

* Communicating with BACnet BMS devices
* Monitoring managed BMS device and point health
* Annunciating and managing BMS alarms and faults
* Performing edge polling collector sampling
